So beautiful and so peaceful now; imagine that beach on June 6th, 1944, some 70 years ago, with “an invasion fleet from eight different navies, comprising 6,939 vessels: 1,213 warships, 4,126 landing craft of various types, 736 ancillary craft, and 864 merchant vessels. There were 195,700 naval personnel involved”. Their sacrifice shall be remembered.
